Pros: Area with locals and no tourists, friendly locals, surf for advanced surfers 700m away (only lefts) , best fish on the island and... low prices. A car is essential, taxis on the island are very expensive, getting around the island in local vans is cheap and they are available all day. If you don't want a resort or an apartment in Santa Maria, this is an option to explore the island.

Very clean and comfortable and value for money with a helpful host.

Pros: I arrived after the office had closed however the instructions for entry were clear. The apartment was spotlessly clean. There was everything a traveller could desire, comfortable bed, shower, cooking facilities. When I met my host the following day he was extremely helpful explaining how I could reach a swimming spot and travel around. Totally satisfied.

Cons: Nothing. I had to make sure the taxi driver dropped me off at the right place. However the name of the apartment block was clearly displayed.

Pros: I liked everything, the host really helpful and attentive. Quiet place to stay, easy to get and the facilities were great. I’m hoping to come back soon. Everything perfect.

Pros: Clean, spacious and organised property. Perfect location to catch even the latest ferries (walking distance to the port). The village is very quiet and charming, local people nice and helpful. The host is a great person, friendly and available. We will come back

Amazing clean and peaceful stay

Pros: Quiet place, really big room. I slept amazing. Very clean, the appartment has everything and more. I would 100% stay again.

Cons: Not the appartments fault but the electricity on the entire island is very unreliable. If you work online this is hard sometimes.

Pros: Good location. Quiet area, short walk to local restaurants. Spacious, clean flat, with all necessary amenities. Great wi-fi. Good value for money.

Cons: Nothing. Only stayed one night as waiting a flight to Boavista. Perfect for that purpose.
