Restful, culinarily interesting and delightful, perfect location from which to explore Santiago
Pros: We had planned to check out the breakfast and then not have it all days. In the end we only skipped one day (because of early traveling). It was a great experience to have all Kira's lovely Cabo Verdian breakfasts with the view of the waves of the Atlantic crashes on the rocks beneath the guest house. It was also nice to chat with the other guests at breakfast, where we exchanged tips of what to see and where to eat. On future visits to Santiago, we will definitely also return to Kira.
Cons: Some more places to hang the towels would be nice, and the lighting in the room could be more cosy. Otherwise: everything was great!

I do recommend the house, but lower the price or improve on details.
Pros: The view of the terrace is fantastic, right at the sea, it’s great feeling to fall asleep at sound of waves. The location is perfect just close to everything in cidade velha. It’s a great base to visit Santiago for a few days. The breakfast was nice and the host was attentive.
Cons: Unfortunately, Cabo Verde is getting a surge in tourism that means prices are going up. The price is not to far from Europe prices. For what we get the price should be different. We did get a clean cozy double bed room with private bathroom, but facilities have issues that for the price is not justified. We could barely use the shower, not because of water pressure but because it was scorching hot, when switching to cold than barely any water. Maybe it was only our room, but for the price this are minimum details, lack of hangers to put your towels to dry, the sewage smells etc. the breakfast should be included instead. We know we are not going to luxury, that’s not what you should expect, but little details that are minimum if to charge some Europe prices.

Pros: Hidden gem! Really a spectacular view of Cidade Velha. Location is a 2 min walk to the beach and the restaurants. Kira is very kind en supportive, and she and another woman speak proper English. Kira even helped us with the local transport (Aluguer) back to Praia. Definitely worth your money. We didn't take the offered breakfast but should have because it looked better than we had at the restaurants near the beach.

Pros: Makes a huge difference when you r traveling and suddenly u feel like u r part of a community, u get invited for local events, etc. Kira is a very relaxed very nice person, full of good energy! the location is perfect! Thanks!

Pros: The best part of this stay was Kira (and her daughter). She is a great host that does her best for everybody to enjoy the stay. The varandas have a great sea view and breakfast is great. The rooms are fine. Cidade Velha is a charming place to stay at, close but at the same time far from the bustling city, Praia.

Pros: Everything we liked, Kira is so kind and helpful, she immediately puts you at ease in her house, our room was a great size and perfect for us Kiras house is amazing, what a gem, so peaceful falling to sleep listening to the waves and tinkling of the shells and the view is outstanding, we even saw a whale in the ocean Cidade Velha is a stones throw from Kiras house, down a road or steps and you are ocean front to the restaurants There's some lovely walks from the house including the old fort above We've only left a few hours ago and already missing the local life of cidade velha and Kiras house We will be back for sure for the relaxing way of life Thanks Kira Don't hesitate get booking
