Best location in Santa Maria and beautiful pool area perfect for a relaxing stay

Pros: Porto Antigo 2 might be in the absolute best location in Santa Maria! It is more or less on the beach and seconds walk away from all the shops and restaurants. The pool area is beautiful with stunning plants and flowers and amazing views of the ocean. It feels extremely safe and enjoyed by couples and families of all ages and nationalities. The apartment we had was on the third floor with a terrace facing the road. There was enough space and amenities for us as a couple to be comfortable and we had everything we needed (towels, hairdryer etc). The complimentary coffee, washing up liquid and toilet roll was also much appreciated. The staff helped us to feel very relaxed and looked after. When we had an issue with a blocked shower drain, it was rectified that same morning and the staff took care of our airport taxi transfers seamlessly.

Cons: Only issue I had was with our apartment being on the top floor, there was a sloped roof in the bathroom. Being over 6ft, this was a bit of a hindrance and we had to be careful not to hit our heads on the low beams! I understand nothing can be done about this but might be worth requesting an apartment on a lower floor if you think this would be an issue. The apartments facing the pool and beach have the best views as well understandably. Another thing - our mattress was a little bouncy but again that is personal preference.

Great location, lovely apartment.

Pros: Absolutely beautiful apartment. Clean, spacious and bright with a top floor balcony. All amenities provided for, and when I asked for a fan for the bedroom, Celeste brought one up within the hour. (The air con worked well, but coolness did not reach the bedroom). Pool and beach in sight from the balcony. Apartment centrally located in town. Some evenings were loud with music playing, but this was no big deal given that we knew how close we would be to everything. We will return!

Cons: Absolutely nothing. :-)

Great apartment, great views in a friendly town.

Pros: A well equipped clean apartment with fantastic views over the pool and the sea. The central location was excellent with a large number of restaurants nearby. The hosts were attentive and helpful. We enjoyed our time there so much we have already booked again for next year!

Cons: We very very happy with the apartment and our stay in Santa Maria.

Pros: Very well located! Close to city center, in front of the beach and with a pool! Perfect for some days in Sal when not looking for an all inclusive.

Cons: I think it would be usefull to have a lounge area. Specially for check-in a d check-out days, plus some toilets/showers for when we are using the pool and room is not so close.

Enjoyed our stay

Pros: Location is excellent. Fabulous view from balcony. Basic apartment but it was comfortable and clean.

Cons: Few teething problems upon arrival at the apartment. Toilet didn't flush properly and we couldn't close the bedroom window due to broken mechanism. However, once reported, quickly rectified by hosts. No late checkout but we were able to leave our luggage in the office at the complex entrance.

Best location in Santa Maria

Pros: The apartment is located in a private area with direct access to the beach. It’s also located 5 mins away from Santa Maria Main Street.

Cons: The ac was broken - only 2 fans provided

Amazing view and location

Pros: Everything! This place is just amazing, it has a wonderful view, the staff was very nice and kind, they left us a postcard with some directions and even a magnet for the fridge. The place is just in the heart of the city very close to convenience, souvenirs, restaurants and any kind of store.

Cons: In my opinion is a bit old fashioned, and the bed wasn’t that comfortable. Other than that the place is just perfect!

Pros: The location is absolutely fabulous. The apartment is quite suitable for 2 persons

Cons: The kitchen organization is not the best, based on cabinet on the wall above the countertop including the cutlery.

A fabulous resort. Perfectly positioned.

Pros: Lovely one bedroom apartment with a view of the pool and the sea. Kitchen well stocked with crockery, cutlery and utensils. We requested a fan for the bedroom and it was provided immediately. Plenty of wardrobe space.

Cons: I paid the full price advertised on booking.com in GBP but still owed extra Euros on arrival. Just be aware if paying in GBP that due to the conversion rate you may need to pay more than advertised.
