Pros: Cool atmosphere, with Dinner (very good!) on a long table With thé other guests, it's easy to mee People and give tips to on another! Vaanya and thé other staff did a really good job! The caipirinhas where the best. Thaanks!

Amazing place

Pros: The views are amazing, it's very well designed and our coconut suite was very spacious. I'd recommend going for a suite to get an amazing view from the room. The staff was super helpful and attentive. I brought a surfboardbag which they even helped carrying to and from the Retreat.

Cons: Nothing really. We knew the location was a bit further away from the villages, which is the charm of the Retreat. I'd say if you plan to explore different places on the island every day it's not an ideal location. But if you also want to hang out at the retreat to chill after long hikes it is perfect. You can also take aluguers from and to the retreat, but they go on limited and specific times, so you should plan around that if you want to use those.

Pros: It was a 5 star experience and the highlight of our trip. One of the most memorable places to stay, relax, laugh and enjoy the pleasure of travel. Vania is such a good host and an asset to the hotel as are all the lovely staff.

Beautiful

Pros: The views were amazing and the dinner and breakfast were very tasty!

Cons: We did not have a window in our room except for a very small one in the bathroom

Pros: The staff were brilliant and very good at communicating. The bunk room was fantastic, nice decor and loads of room. I had to leave early and the kitchen made me a breakfast bag.

Pros: The food was excellent! And the staff very friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the view on the roof terrace superb.

Pros: Unbelievable location, very beautiful surroundings, lots hikes/walks in the area, Staff we’re brilliant, breakfast and evening meals are great and feel homely.

Cons: That we couldn’t have stayed longer. Unbelievably great place.

Pros: We stayed at The Retreat in December and had a fantastic time. The Irish owner (we can’t remember his name) was really welcoming and did his best to make every guest feel at home. You can tell that he truly loves the island, his job and has a passion for hospitality. The meals in the evening were tasty and copious. Nothing was too much in terms of dietary requirements. Dinners were shared as a group which was really handy to get to know people and share experiences and best treks. On the last morning we were going back to the harbour and he gave us a lift. Thank you for a lovely time, we hope to be back at the Retreat soon as it was our favourite place on this beautiful island.

Remote but amazing views

Pros: The staff was very kind, the location was beautiful although you have to be ready to walk the last 5 minutes as the cars can not get there, but that's actually one of the strongest points of the place. The breakfast was very good and we had dinner one night as well and it was super tasty.

Cons: I loved the place, if something, the window glasses could do with a wee cleaning.

Nestled in the middle of the mountains, the location was breathtaking and offered the perfect setting to relax and unwind.
