Social hostel in Sal, expensive though

Pros: Its a very social hostel, nice atmosphere there! well located next to the beach. They allow you to leave the lugagge and shower after the check out

Cons: The price is too high for what it offers. Rooms, bathroom and kitchen could be cleaner, honestly. And the mattress are just horrible. Curtains would be appreciated too

Surf hostel by the beach

Pros: Surfer vibe and friendly atmosphere. Large communal area inside and outside. Good restaurants nearby. Excellent place for kite surfing!

Cons: Loud. Not always easy to get a good sleep. The mattresses were not comfortable but the owner is going to buy new ones. The guests do not leave the kitchen clean after eating.

Best hostel in the island

Pros: The staff is amazing!! big room, with space with locker for your thing, space for washing and storage your surf things. Lots of toilets and showers. Ambience and location are also great. super recommended!

Nice hostel in Sal

Pros: Nice location, friendly staff and good atmosphere.

Cons: A lot of kite surfers which are not always easy to get along with.

Nice hostel

Pros: Really nice hostel, the facilities are nice. Common area is good, WiFi is good (I worked from there and took work calls).

Cons: You have to give 50 euros as deposit or your passport. It’s not that cheap for being a hostel. You don’t have curtains in your beds and the hot water is just from 8 to 10 and 5 to 11.

Pros: Well located in a quiet area at the far end of Santa Maria. Good vibe with a comfortable lounge to hang out inside as well as a nice outdoor patio. Dorm was clean, bed comfortable and it was good to have a towel provided. Toilet and shower facilities were very good. Good kitchen area if you want to cook, although it could do with a kettle

Cons: There was a problem in the hostel when I arrived, which the lone staff member at the time was dealing with. As a result, I was left to hang around in the hostel for almost 2.5 hours before I could check in and go for dinner. Apart from that the staff went out of their way to be friendly and helpful.

Pros: Really nice and welcoming place with hospitable personel and nice atmosphere thanks to the fellow travelers.

Cons: Sharing a room always makes you sleep less effectively but that is part of hostel life.

I met amazing people at the hostel.

Pros: I stayed 9 days. It is a super social hostel for solo travellers especially if you are into water sports. Super hostel staff, super hostel people. Island people are also amazing.

Cons: A female-only dorm can be provided, bunk beds can have curtains for privacy, and a hair-dryer can be provided.
