Authenic village life at its best!
Pros: Authentic village life at its best! Tugged away from the rest of the world, Ja opened a room of her ancestor's home to guests who would like to experience what it's like to live in Cape Verdian raw country side - which includes being offline, taking cold showers with a bucket and a mug, sleeping in pin drop silence (apart from the roosters), walking in the steep hills, etc. One can go with a shared taxi until the roundabout of Sao Domingos. From there, a local can come and pick you up for 300 ESC, or you can walk (it's absolutely safe, the locals are friendly and helpful, location on the map is accurate). They can also drop you to the airport for 1500 ESC, and it just takes 30mins to reach. Ja knows how to cook for vegetarians, too. She is a witty and interesting host to talk to. I am still amazed at the purity and simplicity of this place, and hope to be back one day.

Wirklich auf dem Land
Pros: Die Unterkunft liegt etwas abseits von Sao Domingos. Wir wurden sehr herzlich empfangen und bekamen Frühstück und leckeres Abendessen (mit Gemüse und Eiern vom Hof). Jacira erklärte uns auch, wohin wir unseren Abendspaziergang machen können. Sie spricht recht gut französisch. Sie halten Hühner, Schweine, eine Kuh und eine Katze. Die Unterkunft ist einfach aber sauber. Fliessend Wasser gibt es nicht. Im Bad/WC steht ein grosses Fass mit Wasser um das WC zu spülen oder für die Körperpflege.

Pros: Wer die Ruhe auf dem Land - abseits der touristischen Routen - und herzliche, authentische Gastfreundschaft sucht, der ist hier genau richtig.

Pros: Ja est très accueillante. Un vrai dépaysement à la campagne! La chambre est grande et très propre. Les seaux d'eau sont prévus pour se doucher dans la salle de bain car pas d'eau courante. Attention l'accès est difficile à pieds car la côte est pentue avec des sacs à dos lourd, sinon accès via taxi de Sao Domingos pour 300 CVE seulement, et cela vaut le coup! Il y a des animaux, chats poules coq etc... On peut manger sur place en demandant à Ja le repas en supplément, qui était très bon! En résumé une échappée hors des sentiers battus avec un accueil et un cadre des plus agréable et hors du temps. Merci Ja !

Très bon séjour en dehors des sentiers battus
Pros: Vous redécouvrez la vie rustique à la campagne, le chant des coqs, la toilette avec un bidon d'eau froide. L'hôtesse est très gentille, francophone et aux petits soins. Très bon séjour.
Cons: Mettre une douche même si elle est à l eau froide et un miroir dans la salle de bain

Een authentieke Creoolse ervaring bij een sterke, moedige en ondernemende vrouw en haar gezinnetje.
Pros: De authentieke ervaring is de grote troef van Kasa di Terra. Deze B&B dompelt je onder in de wereld van de Creoolse Kaapverdiërs. Daar moet je wat minder comfort bij nemen, maar dat wordt ruimschoots gecompenseerd door de onthaasting die je er zomaar bij krijgt. Het eten is eerlijk en correct, maar uiteraard geen sterrenniveau. De ongecompliceerde, eerlijke charme van de gastvrouw Ja is de grootste troef van dit etablissement. Ja spreekt een meer dan behoorlijk mondje Frans (en uiteraard Creools en Portugees), wat bewonderenswaardig is voor iemand die heel weinig opleiding kon genieten toen ze alleen viel en de zorg overnam voor 5 jongere broers en zussen.
Cons: Alles wat beter kan gaat ten koste van de authenticiteit. Het is het één of het ander. Het is goed zoals het is, anders zal je je beter op je gemak voelen in een anoniem hotel aan zee. Waar uiteraard niets verkeerd mee is!
