Pros: Amazing friendly guesthouse where you can feel a lot more of the real culture of Cape Verde! I would recommend this guesthouse to anyone staying in Santa Maria for a much more authentic experience. The owners are lovely and so friendly. It really made my stay. I loved drinking at the bar and chatting with the various people that came through. I’m a lone female traveller and I’m so glad I chose this place. I wish I could’ve stayed for longer! It’s very atmospheric and the decor and the layout is just gorgeous. This place has a real vibe. Thank you!

Cons: The bar is only open for a couple of hours in the early evening, which I feel they could be missing a bit of a trick with because I would happily spend all evening there. On the other hand you then have a couple of drinks before dinner and then go out and find somewhere. I had some fabulous conversations with the owner and the guy that works in the bar so make sure that you are back from your day out in time to get a couple of drinks in, it’s really worth it!

Lovely friendly and good value guesthouse in an authentic part of town

Pros: Paula was a very Welcoming, helpful and friendly host.

Excellent place for a long term vacation, business, digitial nomad place.

Pros: Nice size rooms. I personally like that I had a balcony to work. I had gone as part vacation part work and needed a place to work, reliable internet. The accommodation provided all that. Paula was also very considerate in allowing me to work in the communal area and it was juts fine.

Pros: The B&B Sakaroulè is a rare pearl: Paola and the staff are amazing - they're welcoming and they really care about making you feel at home, the building and the rooms are beautifully made and decorated - everything about the colors and the furniture makes you feel at peace, the breakfast was simply excellent - fresh homemade food that makes your day start with a smile, the location is very good too - a few minutes walk from the main street and the beach and surrounded by typical restaurants. We're so happy about our stay. Thank you Paola!

Pros: The staff is amazing, nice clean and cozy room, very central. It doesn’t have a TV which I thought it was going to be a problem but that made me really switch off. When I was indoors I would put my speakers on and enjoy the time for myself.

Cons: The fact that there’s no fridge in the room. Just in case of keeping some cold beverages in the room but it was not the end of the world.

Lovely stay at Sakaroule

Pros: Great location, friendly staff and value for money

Pros: The place looks great from the outside. The rooms are quite simple but enough for a chilled beach holiday in Sal. The balcony was really nice and had view to the main street. The host is very welcoming and hospitable. Transfer was arranged for 20€

Cons: The rooms are a bit too hot, there’s a fan in the room which had to be on all night. If you’re a light sleeper, make sure your bring ear buds.

Pros: Sakaroule is situated close to the beach, centre, salt mines…, while still maintaining the local charm. Which is rare in Santa Maria, a town that became hyper touristic.

Good value for money close to the beach

Pros: Good value for money, 5 minutes walk to the beach, friendly and helpful staff. Lots of restaurants nearby. The wifi is excellent.
