Great place, but not a bed and breakfast!

Pros: Great location, lovely little apartment, friendly people!

Cons: It’s not a bed and breakfast as advertised. I was charged 7 euros for breakfast which should have been included!

Charming and very local S. Nicolau experience

Pros: Not only the location right on the waterfront is excellent, local life is happening right around you. People gather at different times of the day to catch fish, clean it, prepare tools, meet to chat or simply sit quietly (without smart-phones, nice). The peace all around is a blessing. There's an improvised miniature chicken farm right around the corner (five roosters make themselves heard :) Two little shops 5 minutes away provide the basics and sometimes even fresh veggies. For 'night-life' there is a funky bar nearby with music, where you can sit outside and sample various home made drinks and temperaments. The kitchen is well equipped and I found rice, sugar etc. at my disposal. On festive days, Regina opens her little food stall in front of the house and neighbors come together. Regina is an energetic, cool and thoroughly helpful landlady.

Pros: Geräumiges Appartement direkt am Meer. An allen Fenstern Mückengitter. Personal freundlich und hilfsbereit. Einige Hundert Meter bis ins Zentrum. Das Frühstück für 700 Escudos ist gut und reichhaltig. Die Tropennächte können recht warm sein. Ruhig mit kleinen Einschränkungen: Krähende Hähne gegen Morgen. Die kleine Freiluftbar vor dem Haus kann bis ca. 22 Uhr recht belebt sein.

Great apartment in quiet corner of Tarrafal

Pros: This was an extremely comfortable apartment looking out over the ocean, with everything I needed to self-cater and work remotely. The WiFi was usually pretty good, and Regina and her family answered all of the questions I had and helped me with special requests. It was a very pretty, relaxing place to stay!

Cons: The water pressure in the shower was very low.
