Morabeza is genuine in this guesthouse on the sea!

Pros: Very friendly, hospitable owners, lovely setting on the cliffs with the sea below your balcony, comfy beds, home cooked food on the terrace, plus little extras in the room, including a kettle, small fridge, bowl of fruit and coffee, made for a very pleasant stay. The location is perfect for hiking, as it is half way between transort hubs in Ribeira Grande and the Paúl valley, with collective minivans passing all day long. Obrigada Santo Antão! I will be back soon, and stay longer.

Lovely, welcoming and peaceful stay at the Sinagoga Guesthouse watching turtles from our window.

Pros: Incredible location overlooking a bay with turtles swimming. The healthy breakfast was excellent and had a good variation between cold and hot food. The hosts were very friendly and welcoming.

A beautiful location to visit Santo Antao

Pros: The guesthouse is beautifully situated right by the sea. Breakfast and dinner is served on the roof terrace. The breakfast buffet is excellent with a huge variety. We also had dinner there. The food is fantastic with all kind of local products and fresh fish every day. The couple, who runs the guesthouse, is very friendly and helpful. Sinagoga is a good location to reach all the valleys and spots you would like to visit on Santo Antao.

Pros: A family-run business with wonderful owners – you feel like you’re visiting friends! Rich breakfasts on a terrace overlooking the ocean, and excellent dinners if arranged in advance. A great base for all the famous trekking routes. Highly recommended!

Cons: Nothing!

Pros: Wonderful place to stay, have your breakfast on the rooftop and do some turtle watching while at it. What makes the place thoiugh are the hosts, Santos and Catia. Super welcoming and friendly, you'll experience morabeza first hand.

Cons: For me, the mattress was a bit soft, but that's obviously a personal.preference. So really no complaints at all.

Pros: During our trip to Cabo Verde, we stayed in a few guesthouses, but this one was definitely our favorite. Most rooms have a balcony with an amazing ocean view, which we loved. The food was healthy, fresh and super tasty, made with local fish, meat and vegetables. What really made the stay special, though, was the staff - everyone was so warm, friendly and welcoming.

Pros: Family-run business, very gentle and helpful team. They put a lot of efforts in making their business pleasant and operational. The food was absolutely amazing and the rooftop terrace over the ocean is really something to experience!

Great hosts, good food

Pros: Very friendly owners Alcindo and Katia gave us tips and informations about activities on the island. The food was great, I reccomend chicken for dinner - it was just amazing! The rooms are nicely equiped. You can observe many turtles in the bay.

Cons: They should put more effort for cleanliness. The mattress was not so comfortable.

Pros: The family that runs the place is the highlight! They are super sweet, accommodating and can speak English. The rooms are great. There is a kitchen in the basement and they serve any meal you want on the rooftop. From where you can see the turtles. The location is great, transportation to Ribeira grande or Paul comes by very frequently.

Cons: Book early! It fills up fast!

My favourite stay in Santo Antão

Pros: I travelled around and this is the best place I have stayed on the whole island! The owners make this place a gem, they created a warm local atmosphere and give special care to everything! They even helped me to find my next accommodation when I couldn’t find any. The room feels luxurious and the breakfast and dinner are both delicious. The location gives easy access to other places with the colectivo and a nice refreshing swim at the natural pools right in front. Thank you so much Katia & Jacindo also for the lovely chats - I will definitely be back one day!!

Cons: Nothing. Everything was taken care of.
