Pros: Don't believe the doubters!! This is a classic piece of beach architecture and you'd pay good money in France or California to stay in such a classic. It looks like it's from the 1970s but was actually completed much more recently. Above all the hosts fill the place with love and you totally feel it as a guest. The most hospitable place we stayed in Cape Verde by a country mile... and as you'll have clocked.. amazing breakfasts too.

A deeply touching and authentic experience of local life that stayed in my heart long after I left.
Pros: What I loved most about this accommodation was that I was able to stay with the locals — with a mother, her young daughter, and her grandmother who is over 100 years old. They live in the most beautiful place you can imagine, in a stunning valley. Experiencing such an authentic way of life, and being welcomed into the daily life of a Cape Verdean single mother, was incredibly special to me. It was a truly unique experience and the absolute highlight of my three-week holiday in Cape Verde.
Cons: What did I not like about this accommodation? I honestly cannot think of anything. There was nothing I disliked at all. Outside, there are large spider webs with spiders in them. They stay outside and do not come near you. I am not particularly fond of spiders, but even that was something special to see — they were actually very beautiful and interesting. Inside, because it had rained for a while during our stay, it was a little humid. Truly, there is nothing I did not like — absolutely nothing. You have to realize that you are staying with real locals. Dja does not have running water. She does have a toilet and a shower, but you shower using a bucket of water and flush the toilet with a bucket as well. And that is exactly what makes the experience so incredibly beautiful, warm, and special. The hardest part of my stay was having to leave. I left this warm, loving woman with tears in my eyes. That was, without a doubt, the most difficult part of the entire experience — leaving her behind.

Pros: If you want a generic international beach hotel, this isn't for you. If you want quirky and vibrant experience with lovely people and a fantastic breakfast, get yourself here! We absolutely loved it.

Pros: Very nice and huge room with performant A/C and large bed. Great stay with very friendly staff. We highly recommend if you don’t like big and generic hotel/resorts. Location at 10-15 min walk from downtown, so very accessible while being very calm at night !

About very special people you will meet and will make your stay an unforgettable one!
Pros: You will absolutely LOVE Milu and its crew from the very first second you meet them! They will do everything to make you feel home and you will feel it - especially during breakfast time, it's incredibly delicious and prepared with lots of care and local products! It was my first time in Cape Verde and I plan to come to Milu's place next summer again, I absolutely loved the experience!

Wonderful breakfast, lovely staff
Pros: The breakfast was delicious. I liked the fact you were given different things every day. My room was nice and the neighbourhood was quiet.
Cons: It would have been useful if my room keys had a fob to minimise the risk of losing them. In the absence of the owners, the staff seemed a little disorganised at times but they were always cheerful and helpful.
