Pros: Great breakfast, probably the best I had in CV. Very kind owner although she speaks limited English we have managed to sort out everything from aluguers to taxis. Nice room and convenient location for trekking.

Cons: Can not think of anything that I didn’t like.

Good location, but quite noisy

Pros: Location: Excellent and convenient. ​Cleanliness: Exceptionally clean throughout the property. ​Service: One staff member speaks French and is very helpful with logistics

Cons: Room: Small family room with poor lighting and loud sliding doors. ​Noise: low soundproofing; you can hear conversations and phone alarms from other rooms/living area. ​View: The balcony faced a stone a hillside right in front of us, so no view ​Value: Expensive for the quality provided. Breakfast is very basic and mostly sweets. ​Note: The owners live on-site, which is worth mentioning for those who prefer more privacy.

Nice location and clean rooms

Pros: Great location for hiking. Room is clean and breakfast is good

Cons: We booked the location because of the many positive comments on the advices for hikings and transport etc. Unfortunate, this wasn’t our experience. Maybe because Jan wasn’t there.

Pros: We had a great time. The guesthouse is in a good location for hiking and has restaurants nearby. It is clean.The host is very nice. We also liked the breakfast.

Pros: This accommodation was one of the best we had in Cabo Verde. Everything was great and especially the breakfast we really enjoyed. Location also perfect for all the hikes you want to do around Paul.

Love to come back

Pros: We loved to stay here. Our host was very helpful in choosing where to go, what the nicest restaurants are and even how to access a nice swimming pool

Pros: Location is good if you want to be near the coast (we preferred the mountains to the coast here honestly; no beach) and the guesthouse is nice enough

Cons: Rooms and beds, while definitely good enough, feel a bit basic

Great place in Pombas, perfect for hiking

Pros: Location is flawless - on a quiet street, but just off the main road. Aluguars stop virtually opposite the property and are very frequent, both going up the Paul Valley and along the coastal road. There is a little mini market just around the corner, open until 20:00. The owner is super - helpful and able to advise on all the best walks in the area. He suggested a much better walk than the one we initially wanted to do; he had maps and suggested places to eat. The room was very comfortable, clean, and the balcony was a nice bonus. The kitchen area is really nice, half al-fresco. All the staff were lovely and kind and very helpful. The internet works fine - there are 2 networks to choose from. I was also very grateful to have access to a guest fridge in the kitchen area. We regretted cancelling one of the 2 nights we'd initially wanted to stay and only staying 1. For bonus points, there is also a little 8-week-old puppy :)

Cons: I'm quite an independent traveller: I like having access to a kettle in the room and being quite hands-on preparing my own food, so I was a little surprised at how much the kitchen was the domain of the staff. But to be fair, that seems to be the universal way of doing things all around Cape Verde, and actually meant as a form of politeness. So it's not really a criticism, more a reflection on my own style of travelling. The access to the kitchen and anything else I might need was offered to me; I just didn't want to be a nuisance.
