Good place to stay in Mindelo
Pros: Good location, close to the city center, cafes, beach. Very friendly staff, speaking English, I contacted them with questions about logistics around the island - they helped me a lot :). Simple small breakfast, prepared upon your arrival, as fresh as possible, slightly different the next morning and that's good. The room has a hairdryer, enough soap and shower gel - which is not always the case in Cape Verde. There is a refrigerator, they also gave an iron on request.
Cons: The bed was a little hard for me. I would like to have the possibility of an earlier breakfast (it starts at 8:00 here).

Perfect place to stay in Mindelo
Pros: A modest hotel with one of the kindest staff I have ever been to. It's located in a quiet neighborhood but in proximity to everything necessary.
Cons: Could benefit from a tiny overhaul in the near future.

Warm hospitality
Pros: Casa Comba is a great choice for a stay in Mindelo. The property is clean, well-located, and offers reliable Wi-Fi, a delicious breakfast, and a lovely terrace. What truly sets it apart, however, is the outstanding hospitality of the local staff. Friendly, welcoming, and multilingual, the staff went above and beyond to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience. They assisted me in renting a scooter and generously shared their knowledge of the area, offering valuable tips and recommendations.

Pros: The house is striking and pink and all the taxi drivers know exactly where it is. As soon as you enter you can see this place is well organised, maintained, and decorated to a high standard. Dona Caurina and her assistant show you round.... the rooms are named after different islands in the group. Ours was Sto. Antao, that wild and breathtaking range of volcanic mountains just across the Sao Vincente channel, and a short hop on the frequent ferries. Breakfast is served between 8 and 10 - we are vegetarian and vegan respectively, and they even baked a special vegan sponge cake for us. Lovely fresh baguette, home made Marmolada or mango compote, fresh juice, coffee, fruit salad.... Well, it all keeps you going till the evening . Above all, the welcoming attitude and friendliness is outstanding, and not unique in this land. As for value for money, this was the best we found in our independent three weeks on three islands .
Cons: What's not to like? It was great.
