Sissi's B&B

Excellent value and really clean

Pros: Sissi and her son are very kind and friendly. The whole place is spotlessly clean. The beds and pillows are really comfortable. And all the sheets are freshly ironed! Lovely hot water. A few mins walk into the centre of town. Breakfast included is a bonus - a boiled egg, freshly squeezed fruit juice, two different white bread rolls, jam, butter, cheese triangles, cake, a piece of fruit, tea, coffee, and sometimes home made yogurt. Really good value for money!

Cons: Not very soundproofed to the corridors, so you could hear people coming and going, but that’s been the same everywhere I’ve stayed in Cape Verde. I stayed twice (I returned because it was a great place to stay) and the first room I stayed in had a window out onto the stairwell. You couldn’t see through it so it was private, but it was jammed open a little, which made using the toilet feel less private than I would have liked!

Comfortable stay, great value for money

Pros: The accommodation is easy to locate on the main road into town, rooms are clean and comfortable with good hot showers. Breakfast is a highlight including homemade fruit juice and yogurt. Sissi the host is helpful and she speaks excellent French, but not much English. Early morning aluguer pick ups to the ferry can be booked via her.

Pros: We had an excellent stay and hospitality! Sissi created warm, wonderful and welcoming atmosphere at her pousada. The breakfast was also excellent, including home-made natural yogurt, jam and juice.

Home away from home

Pros: Sissi provides a home away from home. Very helpful. Great breakfast

Everything we wished for!

Pros: Sissi welcomed us warmly and we had everything that we needed for our stay. The room had a fan which was great in the heat and a clothing rack where we were able to hang our hiking gear to air it out. Simple bed and bathroom. The coastal hike was simply stunning. We took an Aluguer to Cruzhina in the morning and it was great to arrive in Ponta do Sol after the hike. We also felt very safe in town and enjoyed the natural pools nearby to swim in the sea. The breakfast was good and Sissi prepared it for us in advance on one morning so that we could leave early for the hike.

Great value stay as a hiking base

Pros: Useful facilities like a guest kitchen and laundry area. Clean, comfortable, good value. It's possible to arrange a self-service breakfast if leaving early. Note that English isn't well-spoken here but Portuguese and French are. Helpful host. They were willing to accept last minute changes because of travel disruptions between islands.

Cons: Shower water pressure can be weak in the early morning. Unlit streets at night. Crime isn't an issue but one might trip over something without a flashlight.

Pros: Sissi was adorable and caring. She made sure my need were met and taken care of.

Quiet family b&b close to the beach

Pros: Kind and attentive hosts, great position, clean and well maintained

Cons: Would be nice to have access to a common area to relax or make coffee/tea during the day

An excellent B&B

Pros: I had a very pleasant stay, everyone is very nice, the breakfast is good and plentiful, the room is cleaned everyday, and you can use the kitchen if you need to :)

Pros: Very good place!! Incredible price-quality, host is amazing, it has everything you need.
