Blue Marlin Hotel

Pros: The hotel is very nice. Very good breakfast and nice view. Room is big enough. Not so far from the centre and the beach. The pool is not the one you see on the photo though

Great view, other aspects dodgy.

Pros: Best aspect was the great view from my room over the harbour and the balcony to relax on. Good hot shower. I had one evening meal which was good. The location ten minutes from main shops and restaurants also good.

Cons: In the dining room some of the staff had the unpleasant habit of conducting loud conversations on their mobile phones which is inconsiderate towards diners. Breakfast was only average in quality and some of the staff seemed reluctant to provide a service. The hotel has many plate glass windows which are kept very clean, but at least two people (me being one) walked straight into them and hurt themselves. The frame of the bed is like a rectangular box and I injured my leg on one of the sharp wooden corners.

Very comfortable, clean, modern and friendly.

Pros: Breakfast was very good. The hotel was located halfway between beach one way and the centre of town the other way. Both walkable and very convenient. The staff were super friendly and helpful. Loved having supper by the pool. Food was excellent.

Spectacular views of the harbour below.

Pros: The views from the balcony were spectacular. The room was spotless and the staff were friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was varied and delicious.

Cons: The fact that one of the pools as pictured in the marketing materials is out of bounds for hotel guests and is only for guests booking apartments. This was very disappointing.

Lovely stay.

Pros: Great room with a superb view of the harbour. The breakfast buffet was excellent on the first day. The pool was just right for swimming lengths.

Cons: No buffet on second day because there weren’t enough guests.

A fine choice during our stay in Mindelo

Pros: We stayed at this hotel twice as we visited both the island of Sao Vicente and then Santo Antao. The hotel is comfortable with a good location and view to the ocean. During the last stay we stayed in the appartment on the 4th floor as we travelled with our youngsters (even though we had booked 2 separate rooms).

Cons: Beds are a little hard and the breakfast room/restaurant became quite crowded for breakfast.

Decent hotel on top of a hill

Pros: The staff was great. Front desk, housekeeping, and food and beverage.

Cons: We booked six months in advance and got a tiny room overlooking a building under construction. They started the banging at 8 am every day.

Gutes und preiswertes Stadthotel, wenn man nicht direkt in der Stadt wohnen will

Pros: Sehr hilfsbereite und freundliche Dame an der Rezeption. Wir hatten einen Tag Verspätung durch Flugausfall von Cabo Verde Airlines und sie haben uns das Zimmer frei gehalten und nicht berechnet. Auf dem Rückflug hatten wir wieder Verspätung und auch da hat uns die Rezeption geholfen und nochmal ein Zimmer zur Verfügung gestellt. Dafür waren wir sehr dankbar. Die Lage ist besser als erwartet, denn Blue Marlin liegt in einer ruhigen und sicheren Gegend mit tollem Blick über die Bucht und den Hafen von Mindelo. Wir hatten ein Zimmer im 3. Stock mit Blick auf die Bucht. Der Weg vom Stadtzentrum ca. 10 Minuten, leicht bergauf , aber gut machbar.

Cons: Frühstücks Service recht unmotiviert und langsam. Frühstück selbst ist okay, Kaffee aus der Kaffeemaschine nur gegen Bezahlung. Rezeption ist im 1. Stock und es gab keine Hilfe, um die Koffer hoch zu tragen.

Pros: Ubicacion excelente al lado del centro y el puerto de Mindelo. La.hanitacion muy limpia, con buen baño, cama grande y comoda y terraza. El desayuno completo y rico con opciones para todos los gustos.

Cons: Nos toco la habitacion en el primer piso por lo que no habia vistas y teniamos un edificio en construccion justo al lado.

Très sympa pour s’y arrêter un ou deux jours.

Pros: Le restaurant. L’attente est assez longue mais ça en valait à chaque fois la peine.
