Pure heaven on the island of fire

Pros: Fantastic stay in an old colonial house. Great pool area. Good value, cosy and tasty restaurant. Right in city centre so good starting point to discover Sao Felipe, Fogo volcano and Fogo surroundings.

Lovely place

Pros: Lovely old building. Good friendly staff. Reasonable breakfast. Downstairs bar is a good place to drink and food is reasonable. Swimming pool area made a comfortable place to cool off prior to afternoon siesta!

Cons: Room was very hot (no air conditioning) at night. But that's what you get in old buildings with no air conditioning! They did provide a very powerful fan which greatly helped us sleep at night.

Pros: Lovely old building filled with antique furniture. Good central location in Sao Filipe. Small swimming pool (if chilly). Pleasant outdoor seating area. The owner kindly upgraded us to a room with ensuite, as someone else had been put in the room we booked.

Cons: Building works going on in the square while we were staying, so rather dusty. Bar/restaurant staff very slow. Lots of the food on the menu not available, so we gave up and went elsewhere. Be aware that most of the rooms have private bathrooms, but these are not ensuite.

Bon séjour dans un hôtel de charme

Pros: Ancienne demeure charmante de style colonial. Réception et bar ouverts toute la nuit: repas de.style européen plutôt de qualité. Piscine.

Cons: Une rénovation serait bienvenue: remise aux normes des installations électriques et des sanitaires.

Pros: Le lieu est vraiment très très beau. Nous avons profité de la piscine tout l'après midi et avons passé un moment très agreable. Le restau au pied de l'hôtel est bon et convivial.

Cons: Nous avons fait le check in à 14h avec le terminal de paiement en guise de bonjour et n'avons revu personne jusqu'à notre départ le lendemain matin. Aucun staff dans l'hôtel. Très bizarre voire désagréable on ne sait même pas si l'hôtel est fermé la nuit ou si des gens peuvent entrer. Le restaurant de l'hôtel est ouvert mais ce n'est pas le même staff.

Pros: Le lieu, le cachet de la bâtisse, la gentillesse du personnel, la piscine sur le parvis de la chambre.

Cons: L'absence de climatisation, non pas qu'on soit accros a cet équipement mais il faisait chaud et le rafraîchissent d'air mis a disposition dans la chambre était inexploitable car trop bruyant.
