Hotel Salinas São Jorge

Pros: We had a super stay. We got the best room, with big windows on the edge of the ocean. Katia and Eloy are super hosts, they made sure we had everything we needed. Tip: they can arrange guides for you, they know how to arrange a good trip (so no need to go with the people that come to you when you step from the boat perse). The dinner and and breakfast was super as well. We got a fresh huge fish that we ate with the two of us, amazing. When we were there, the sea was rough. We were able to use the natural pool next to the hotel once. If the sea is calmer, you can easily swimm and fish next door. The location is between Sao Filipe and Mosteiros. Tours leaving from Sao Filipe can charge you more for the pick up, it is 25 minutes drive. Another reason to ask Katia to help organise you trip.

Cons: The property is a little tired. There was only one other room occupied and I sense they need more customers to make the improvements needed.

Pros: Catia is a wonderful host and made our stay very great. We enjoyed the remote location right at the ocean front. The meals were very delicious and all prepared fresh. We had a great stay and enjoyed every minute of it!

Pros: What a fabulous place with such kind, caring owners. In such a lovely spot, calm and tranquil with wonderful sea views and sunsets. There are also natural pools to swim in. What made it even more special was the warmth and care of the owners. Katya is also one of the best cooks I have ever come across. Every meal was a treat. On my last night she cooked me the local speciality and taught me how to dance island style. I ended up staying extra nights. Wonderful.

Pros: The owners are two beautiful souls who will make you help feel at home instantly! The location is breathtaking, the facilities are great and the food is amazing. Absolutely worthwhile going there!

Cons: There was a power outage during my stay, a bit inconvenient, but it is not something the owners can do something about (other than purchasing a generator of course but that is no easy feat to acquire obviously).

Just amazing

Pros: Everything. Katya is very welcoming, cooks very (very very) well and takes care of her client like no one did in Cap Verde. We have spent 2 weeks in Cabo Verde and haven’t met anyone that kind, welcoming and helpful. The place is also amazing. Out of nowhere, facing the sea, natural swimming pool… you name it! Katya also offers a few options to discover Fogo island like pico de fogo.
