Fantastic place to spend the night in Tarrafal de Monte Trigo

Pros: Everyone was very nice and welcoming, we felt right at home and perfectly comfortable.

The place is good, the food is delicious, some staff are really great, but don’t book a boat with them!

Pros: The room was good, the food was delicious and the staff were very nice and helpful, specially Alvaro, he did everything he could for us.

Cons: We booked a boat to come back from Monte Trigo to Tarrafal with them and it didn’t go well. First the price was fixed, 5000 escudos per boat. Then we talked with another couple to share the costs with them and suddenly the price changed and it was 3000 per couple, so total of 6000. Because we had no better alternative we accepted it. Obviously the skipper was a relative of the staff (the brother of the owner, I think) and he was quite rude since the beginning. He was there at the arranged time and when we jumped on board, he said we could leave the bags in a compartment of the boat. We did put the bags, but I was afraid that the compartment had water in the bottom so I decided to double check with him and he was very arrogant saying that there was no water. When we arrived on land, my bag was submerged in water and all my electronics were destroyed. He just simply apologised and I left there with a big prejudice (more than 100€).

Pros: I liked it. I paid more than I would have at other places but also, it’s at the end of the road so this has to be expected. Breakfast was excellent and the ladies running the place were lovely. I was really hot at night but it’s June so what can you expect. I’d definitely recommend it and sleep with the windows open next time. The view from the terrace is superb

Good price/quality rate

Pros: Simple but comfortable hotel with good price/quality rate.

Pros: Alvaro and the staff were so helpful and welcoming and the food was incredible.Thank you as well for organising us a take away breakfast so we could make the 6am alugar.

Pros: Great location. Clean rooms and warm hosts. The place has a nice terrace to relax on with drink from the bar. Don't forget to ask for some aged grogue or ponche.

Cons: There was very loud music from the public area next to the place Friday and Saturday night. But that's just me old geezer vs. the partying youth...

Basic but good value, well located, friendly staff

Pros: Good breakfast, very friendly staff! Room was very clean. Good bed, firm mattress. 5-10 min walk to restaurants and beach.

Cons: Room a bit too wam at night with only a small window but there was a ventilator. Large opening to the corridor in bathroom which allows climbing through, no safe in the room. Several cocks nearby crow all night, bring ear plugs.

Pros: The receptionist guy was very very gentle with us and we appreciate this a lot! The bed was very comfortable, the breakfast was great and the wifi in the terrace was very good!
